Manchester United Get Tough On Rooney
United Get Tough On Rooney
Manchester United will not pander to Wayne Rooney's demands. The Champions refuse to be rushed into offering the striker a new mega contract and neither are they willing to bow to any demands to contradict Sir Alex Ferguson's claim the player asked to leave the club at the end of last season.
A Manchester United source said: "This is not like the last time. Then Manchester United did everything to keep him. This time he is not the same player and a lot of people are starting to lose patience."
But England coach Roy Hodgson plans to stick by Wayne Rooney, saying: "Wayne Rooney will, I'm sure, be an important cog in our wheel. "His club future is nothing to do with me."

Wayne Rooney ready to Leave Manchester United
Wayne Rooney ready to Leave Manchester United
A former Manchester United coach claims Wayne Rooney could have been as good as Cristiano Ronaldo, but has seen his career held back by a hatred of working out. Mick Clegg, who worked as fitness coach at Old Trafford, has revealed the vast... but entirely unsurprising contrast between the attitudes of 27-year-old Rooney and 28-year-old Ronaldo when it came to hitting the gym. “Wayne didn’t see the importance of the gym, really, here would say ‘I’m here to play football’. I always wish I could have pushed Wayne that bit further. "Wayne was always a big lad and was afraid of bulking up if he spent too much time in the gym, that’s what set Cristiano Ronaldo apart. He would do whatever training I prescribed and more. “He lived and breathed football 24/7 and his dedication was phenomenal. Wayne could still be as good as Cristiano if he emulated his attitude to the gym, he is an amazing athlete when he puts his mind to it.”

Wayne Rooney leaveing Manchester United
Wayne Rooney wants to leave Manchester United. Wayne Rooney's Transfer request was turned down by Manchester United but now they are using the England striker to promote their new kit. Wayne was unveiled yesterday in Manchester United's Nike home strip for next season. Despite having asked to leave the club twice in three years, he remains one of their most marketable players. And that is why Nike and Manchester United have used him to push sales of the new kit. How much longer Wayne Rooney continues to wear it remains to be seen. New manager David Moyes is on holiday and still to decide on Wayne's future. There was little doubt former boss Alex Ferguson had grown sick of him after the player's second bid to get away.
Sir Alex left him out of his farewell match at Old Trafford and a large proportion of Manchester United fans have also turned against him. He was booed when he accepted his title winning medal and also received stick during Manchester United's victory bus parade.
Many in the United hierarchy reckon this could be the time to cash in at £25million, believing they have had the best from him.
He has just two years left of his current £250,000 a week contract and there are no signs the club are ready to offer him a new one.
